ISIS Militants Allegedly Destroy Ancient Iraqi Artifacts [VIDEO]
ISIS releasing a video showing insurgents destroying ancient artifacts in Iraq.
FOX News Radio’s Jessica Golloher has the details.
The five-minute video shows what appears to be a group of men inside the Mosul Museum using sledge hammers and drills to chip and break several large statues into pieces. The militants claim the relics are idols that must be removed. The video also showing black-clad men at a nearby archaeological site drilling through and destroying a winged bull Assyrian protective deity, dating back to the 7th century BC.
The footage comes as ISIS has captured at least 220 Assyrian Christians in northeastern Iraq.
The video has yet to be authenticated but appears to be real as ISIS took over Mosul last June.
