Commuter Train Collides With Truck, Derails In California [VIDEO]
One person is in custody after a commuter train collided with a truck Tuesday morning in California.
FOX News Radio’s Tonya J. Powers has more:
Three Metrolink train cars are on their sides where they came to a stop after the train crashed into a tractor trailer in Oxnard, about 60 miles north of Los Angeles.
Fire officials say they know where the truck driver is…
(Official) “The driver of that vehicle did flee and is now in custody by Oxnard PD.”
Caught less than a mile from the crash site.
There is a railroad crossing signal at the intersection, with lights and a crossing arm.
The burned-out remains of the truck are on the side of the track… And a portion of it is farther down the track beside the train cars that are overturned.
The train shares tracks with Amtrak – so service will be disrupted while the NTSB investigates.
