Beginning Tuesday, same-sex couples in Florida will be able to get married. The day comes after a slew of court fights ending with a federal judge declaring every county in the Sunshine State can’t withhold a marriage license from two people of the same gender seeking to wed.

FOX News Radio’s Eben Brown reports from Miami:

At midnight Tuesday, same-sex couples in Florida can marry.

(Same sex couple) “I always believed it would happen, I just didn’t know if it would happen in our lifetime, to be honest.” / “Our country is in turmoil, and it just is another step that brings us closer to all citizens being equal.”

They’ll be tying the knot. Many clerks’ offices are planning to open at midnight. Pat Franck is the clerk in Tampa…

(Franck) “I’m planning for the crowd. And if that happens, I’ve reserved the park across from where my office is.”

But, there are some clerks who will refuse to perform wedding ceremonies after issuing licenses, claiming discomfort officiating.
