U.S.-Led War In Afghanistan Ends
The fighting in Afghanistan isn’t over…but the U.S. led war is.

President Obama marking the milestone by thanking U.S. troops for extraordinary sacrifice. In 13 years of combat against al Qaeda and the Taliban, more than 2,200 Americans have died.

Nearly 11,000 U.S. troops will remain in Afghanistan in the new year — that mission described as supporting Afghan security forces.
At the war’s peak in 2010 — 140,000 American troops surged into Afghanistan, more than a trillion dollars spent the by the U.S. to fight the war and re-build the country.
