Christmas Sign At Firehouse In New York Creates Controversy
For now, a Christmas sign stays on a firehouse in upstate New York.
FOX News Radio’s Chris Foster reports:
The sign outside Firehouse 4 in Utica, New York says: “Happy Birthday Jesus – We Love You.”
A group called the Freedom from Religion Foundation has threatened to sue.
Chief Russell Brooks says the sign stays.
(Brooks) “These are men and women that come to work and risk their lives every day. They’re not intimidated by letters from these atheist organizations.”
As far as freedom of religion goes:
(Brooks) “If the guys wanted to put a menorah or Star of David, any, you know, I have no problem with that.”
He says the sign started going up at Christmas after the 9/11 attacks.
