FOX Wheels: More Recalls In The Auto World
More auto recalls and some good news bad news for Ford.
FOX News Radio’s Jeff Monosso reports:
It’s FOX Wheels.
The word of the year for 2014 is photobomb when maybe it should have been recall.
There’s been a string of them, including GM’s deadly ignition switch. The company says half of the over 2 million cars recalled have yet to be fixed.
And now National Highway Transportation Safety Administration asking owners of almost 8 million vehicles to act immediately over defective airbags affecting Toyota, Honda, Mazda, BMW, Nissan, Mitsubishi, Subaru, Chrysler, Ford and GM. The airbags – made by Japanese parts maker Takata can malfunction, sending shrapnel into the car. Four deaths and dozens of injuries attributed to the Takata airbags. The feds urge you check with your manufacturer to make sure your vehicle is safe.
Ford Motor Company’s profits dropped 34% in the third quarter the company says it’s because of the cost of launching its new aluminum-sided F-150 pickup. The new F-150 will be 700-pounds lighter when it goes on sale at the end of the year.
