New Ebola Guidelines for Hospitals
Two nurses who got sick remain in special treatment while hospitals change Ebola guidelines.
FOX News Radio’s Tonya J. Powers reports:
Cover up everything — that’s the new word from the CDC, who now says all skin must be covered when dealing with a suspected Ebola patient.
Health officials had been given some flexibility on what covering to use.
Dr. Anthony Fauci, head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, on FOX News Sunday, talked about how nurse Nina Pham may have gotten Ebola.
(Dr. Fauci) “We don’t know for sure, but it is likely that she got infected because not completely covered.”
Now, they must use full-body suits and hoods that protect their necks, and there are strict rules for removing that equipment.
They also have to have a site manager to supervise putting on and taking off the equipment.
