NJ High School Cancels Football Season [VIDEO]
The football season has been canceled for a winning team in central New Jersey.
FOX News Radio’s Jessica Golloher has the details:
Sayreville War Memorial High School has won three sectional titles over the past four years, but they won’t be taking to the field for the rest of the season.
School’s superintendent Richard Labbe says officials made the announcement amid allegations of intimidation, harassment and bullying among football players.
(Labbe) “The reason for the cancellation and the forfeiture was due to a criminal investigation of those very serious incidences of inappropriate conduct.”
Details of the investigation have not been released. Last week, an assistant football coach resigned after he was arrested with steroids. Labbe claims the cancellation is unrelated to that incident.
