Supreme Court Denies Same-Sex Marriage Appeals [VIDEO]
The Supreme Court decides not to hear five states’ appeals of rulings that struck down same-sex marriage bans.
FOX News Radio’s Jared Halpern reports from Washington:
The courts from coast to coast have turned down same-sex marriage bans as unconstitutional. Five states appealing those decisions to the U.S. Supreme Court. Those appeals it appears will not be heard. The United States Supreme Court turning down appeals from Utah, Virginia, Indiana, Wisconsin and Oklahoma — all of those states had their own same sex marriage bans turned down by lower courts and federal appeals courts. This ruling by the Supreme Court to turn away appeals would leave those lower court opinions in place. It appears right now that the U.S. Supreme Court will not step in to the same-sex marriage debate. Rather, turning away appeals from several states and leaving in place lower court rulings that ruled same sex marriage bans are unconstitutional.
