Some people in Illinois are furious that Halloween decorations are going up at the home of a known sex offender.

FOX News Radio’s Jeff Monosso reports:

Some residents in Caseyville in southwestern Illinois say it should be illegal for 55-year-old Jessie Griffin to decorate his home on Twin Drive with witches, spider webs, pumpkins… even a smoke machine, that neighbors fear will attract kids.

(Neighbor):  ”I don’t believe that anybody that harms a child should get a break or a second chance.”

Griffin was convicted years ago of forcible sexual assault of a child, and Illinois law forbids registered sex offenders from handing out candy on Halloween. But, there’s no clear law on decorating.

Police say they’re investigating and working with the State’s Attorney’s Office to determine whether or not the Halloween decorations have to come down.
