Ever heard of Enterovirus 68? Fortunately, the CDC has, but it’s not clear why so many kids are suddenly sick with it in so many states.

FOX News Radio’s Eben Brown reports:

Enteroviruses are common around the world, but Enterovirus 68 is not so common in the U.S., but it’s apparently spreading to kids around the country, causing respiratory disease. Dr. Anne Schuchat at the CDC:

(Schuchat) ”We want healthcare professionals to be aware that EV 68 may be a potential cause of clusters of severe respiratory illness particularly affecting young children.”

There have been hundreds of hospitalizations already. Enteroviruses spread through contact with infected people and their body fluids.
