Dwindling of Denim?
A new trend is putting the squeeze on blue jeans.
FOX News Radio’s Tonya J. Powers reports:
Blue jeans are as American as apple pie… But we’re buying fewer pairs of them. The reason?
Yoga pants.
More of us are going the comfy route these days with yoga pants and leggings.
Jean sales fell 6% in the past year after decades of growth. But denim is far from dead — still accounting for 20% of annual sales at America’s department stores.
“Active Wear”, the category yoga pants fall into, climbed 7% and is part of a $33 billion business.
That means a lot more of us look like we’re headed to the gym… Even if we’re not.
