AEHQ: Eric Cantor Loses In Virginia Primary [VIDEO]
One establishment Republican falls, and another cruises to victory.
Fox News Radio’s Rachel Sutherland reports from Washington:
From America’s Election Headquarters.
A shocking upset in Virginia, where House Majority Leader Eric Cantor lost the GOP primary. He was defeated by a political newbie and economics professor named Dave Brat, who was backed by the Tea Party. Brat attacked Leader Cantor on immigration on the campaign trail and was out shaking hands at the polls on election morning…
(Brat) “Good morning folks, I’m Dave Brat if you have any last minute questions.”
Leader Cantor said he’s disappointed but will continue to fight for the Conservative cause.
(Cantor) ”I believe in this country. I believe there’s opportunity around the next corner.”
Meanwhile, in South Carolina, incumbent Senator Lindsey Graham fended off six challengers and avoids a runoff election.
(Graham) ”I’ll beat the Democratic candidate’s brains out… They know it. They’re not going to spend 15-cents here.”
Also in South Carolina, Republican U.S. Senator Tim Scott won his primary. He’ll face Democrat Joyce Dickerson in the state’s first general Senate election between two African American candidates.
