President Obama Outlines Foreign Policy Plans
A shift in how the U.S. will lead on the world stage spelled out by President Obama during the commencement address at the United States Military Academy at West Point.
FOX News Radio’s Jared Halpern reports from Washington:
President Obama telling the nation’s newest commissioned officers the U.S. must always lead on the world stage.
(President Obama) “The military that you have joined is and always will be the backbone of that leadership.”
But, the President cautions, military action cannot be the only or even the primary component to solving international challenges.
(President Obama) “Some of our most costly mistakes came not from our restraint, but from our willingness to rush into military adventures without thinking through the consequences.”
President Obama says he’ll work with Congress to increase assistance to rebels fighting in Syria, and establish a fund to support other nations’ fights against terrorism.
