Washington State Suffers Massive, Deadly Mudslide [VIDEO / PHOTOS]
At least 14 people are dead and more than 100 people are unaccounted for after a huge mudslide covered a small town in Washington state north of Seattle.
FOX News Radio’s Jessica Rosenthal reports from Arlington, Washington:
Aside from those killed, the list of unaccounted for has grown to 176 names. Though authorities hope many of those are from duplicate reports. Snohomish County Fire Chief Travis Hots says one firefighter told him searching has been so slow because of the consistency of the mud that’s made its way through houses.
(Hots) “He best described it as like cement that has gone into those void spaces and it’s very very difficult to get in there and actually search.”
A 50 person national guard team is expected to come assist in the search.
