Kitt, the car, talked to his driver on the old tv show “Knight Rider”…
(‘Knight Rider’) ” Tah dah…”
The government thinks if your car talks to those nearby – up to 80% of accidents could be prevented.
The Department of Transportation wants “V2V” technology required in new cars. It uses a chip and wireless network. DOT Secretary Anthony Foxx shoots down privacy concerns…
(Foxx) “The technology does not involve exchanging or recording personal information. V2V doesn’t even track vehicle movements.”
Once a report on V2V testing wraps up, the legislation push goes full speed ahead.

Your red or black car is probably white right now — the salt residue caking it.
Chicago mechanic Frank Guske Jr. says the salt starts eating into that new car after the first storm.
(Guske Jr.) “You can walk out in the morning take a look through your wheels at your brake roters you see the first sign of rust.”
Guske says, make sure the undercarriage is thoroughly washed and adding a couple teaspoons of baking soda to soap will neutralize acids eating into your paint.
