Evacuations Ordered As Wildfire Burns Near Los Angeles
Colby Fire update as of Friday morning:
Nathan Judy of The Angeles National Forest tells FOX News that the Colby Fire has burned 1,709 acres and is still at 30% containment. There are 1,176 firefighters on the scene. The fire has destroyed five homes and damaged 17 structures. Air support includes nine helicopters and four fixed wing aircraft. There have been at least three minor injuries. Evacuations are still in effect for the Azusa area. A total of 870 homes were evacuated and over 1,700 people have been displaced by the fire.

Police in Glendora say three people have been arrested in connection with this fire. Several people like this woman living right on the edge of the Angeles National Forest in Los Angeles had to evacuate:
(Evacuee) “This morning was very black. Now it looks, it looks like they’ve gotten the fires contained, but it, it was all red and orange and just a really ferocious fire.”
Several fires have popped up this week as Southern California deals with unusually dry, hot and windy weather this winter.
