CA Supreme Court Allows Illegal Immigrant To Practice Law
A northern California man has become the first illegal immigrant approved to practice law by the State Supreme Court.
FOX News Radio’s Sharon Katchen reports from Los Angeles:
Four years after passing the bar exam on his first try, 36-year-old Sergio Garcia is admitted to the state bar. He went to the State Supreme court to challenge a law barring illegal immigrants from getting professional licenses. The turning point came when the Governor signed a bill allowing qualified illegal immigrants to have professional licenses. It took effect yesterday and the Supreme Court Justices ruled today, basing their opinion admitting Garcia on that law.
