Pope Francis Named ‘TIME’ Person of the Year
Pope Francis has been named TIME magazine‘s Person of the Year 2013.
FOX News Radio’s Courtney Walsh reports from Rome:
The Argentinian Pope, who turns 77 next week beat off competition from whistle-blower Edward Snowden and gay rights activist Edith Windsor who came in second and third. ‘TIME’ noted that the first Pope from the new world, who took the name of the 13 century Saint Francis, who is dedicated to the poor, has surprised everyone with his charisma during the short nine months of his papacy. Papal spokesman Lombardi commented that the Pope is content if this attention attracts men and women and gives them hope.
