Need some tips on getting ready for Thanksgiving Day? Who better to ask than domestic expert Martha Stewart?

FOX News Radio’s Lilian Woo reports:

One of the best known names in entertaining believes you can’t be too prepared when it comes to hosting Thanksgiving…

(Stewart) “Shop for all the staples as far ahead as possible.”

Martha Stewart says you can also cook several sides ahead of time, like her cranberry ginger relish, which is good for several days refrigerated. Keep in mind the aim of your menu…

(Stewart) “Simple but elegant meals. Delicious food. Practice if you have to.”

Some people like to make and freeze buttermilk biscuits, ready to be popped into the oven on the big day.

Still others swear by gravy, made ahead. Up to three days before you need it. When you’re ready just reheat the mixture over low heat stirring add drippings and giblets.

And if your turkey is a frozen one, it should already be defrosting in your fridge where it needs to sit one full day for every five pounds of bird.
