FOX in the Fast Lane: AdvoCare 500 (Phoenix)
With just two races left until a new Sprint Cup Champion is crowned… The Sprint Cup goes to Arizona for the AdvoCare 500 this Sunday. Dale Earnhardt Jr. is still looking to win, Jeff Gordon is feeling good about the season and Jimmie Johnson makes a big donation to schools.
FOX News Radio’s Marghiee Teshineh previews the race in “FOX in the Fast Lane”:
FOX in the Fast Lane.
With just seven points separating points leader Jimmie Johnson and Matt Kenseth heading into this Sunday’s race in Phoenix, Johnson knows:
(Johnson) “If you’re in contention you’ve got more pressure than you ever wanted on you — it’s just there.”
Though Dale Earnhardt Jr.‘s chances of winning the Chase are slim, he’s not ready to stop pushing his team to get a win at Phoenix.
(Earnhardt Jr.) “We feel like that we are doing a lot of good work and getting real close to probably breaking through and getting a win.”
And for Jeff Gordon, after four Top 10 finishes in the Chase and a win at Martinsville:
(Gordon) “We take that confidence in the cars that we have been bringing to the race track to Phoenix this weekend.”
This week Jimmie Johnson awarded $470,000 to nine different schools as part of the annual grants he and his wife have given out in the last four years to schools in the couple’s hometowns in California, Oklahoma and in North Carolina where the couple currently resides.
