Should kids be lifting weights? A statement from the British Journal of Sports Medicine says resistance training is good for kids, but needs to be supervised and tailored for them by a qualified professional. Although the topic is controversial, experts say because of the low fitness levels of today’s kids, weight bearing exercise can benefit young bodies. The statement was endorsed by the American Academy of Pediatrics.
