Poll: NJ Residents Spent Less Time At The Shore

    Superstorm Shore Tourism

Despite an all out media blitz, fewer New Jersey residents hit the shore this year in the wake of Hurricane Sandy.

FOX News Radio’s Jeff Monosso reports:

New Jersey’s tourism industry made an all-out effort this Spring.

(Commercial) “The word is spreading.//Because we’re stronger than the storm.//You bet we are!”

But the Jersey Shore, as it turns out, wasn’t stronger than the spotty weather and expected business closures from Hurricane Sandy that caused many who live in the Garden State, 40% according to a Monmouth University poll, to spend less time than usual on the shore this past Summer. Attendance numbers that expect to linger or perhaps get worse following this month’s electrical fire that destroyed a large portion of the famed boardwalk in Seaside Park.
