Sponsor NAPA Leaving Michael Waltrip Racing

NAPA

A high-profile NASCAR team in trouble for pulling a dirty trick a few weeks back is now losing a prime sponsor.

FOX News Radio’s Eben Brown reports:

NAPA Auto Parts is pulling its sponsorship of the NASCAR Cup Series race car driven by Martin Truex, Jr. now that the racing league has concluded the car’s owning team, Michael Waltrip Racing, used their other cars to create hazards for competing drivers a couple of weeks back at a race in Richmond, Virginia… Allowing Truex to enter into NASCAR’s playoff series, known as “The Chase.” Waltrip Racing got record fines and punishments from NASCAR, but now NAPA, which has sponsored the car since 2001 will no longer do so at the end of the season, though they reportedly had a deal through 2015.
