TX Student Dies After Ant Attack
A Texas boy is dead after he was attacked by ants during a football game.
FOX News Radio’s Dave Anthony reports:
Cameron Espinosa was playing football in a middle school game in Corpus Christi, Texas last week when he was suddenly carted off the field losing consciousness. What happened? Espinosa was bitten by fire ants in a halftime huddle. And it turns out the 12-year-old was severely allergic to them and no one knew. His teammates woke up Monday to the news Espinosa died:
(Elliff) “We’d like to extend our very deepest sympathies our thoughts and prayers to the family of this young man and the many friends of this student.”
School superintendent Scott Elliff. All extracurricular activities have been cancelled this week. That field with the fire ants won’t be used again until it’s treated.
