FOX in the Fast Lane: Geico 400 (Chicago)
It’s off to Chicagoland Speedway for this Sunday’s start of the NASCAR Chase for the Championship, The Geico 400. Ryan Newman’s Chase dreams are still alive, Michael Waltrip Racing’s sponsorship deals are at risk, and watch for the little race team that could: Furniture Row Racing.
FOX News Radio’s Marghiee Teshineh previews the race in this week’s “FOX in the Fast Lane”:

NASCAR’s ruling against Michael Waltrip Racing’s drivers for trying to improve teammate Martin Truex Jr.’s chances of getting into The Chase resulted not only in fines and lost points, but Truex losing his spot in The Chase to Stewart-Haas Racing’s Ryan Newman.
For Newman, it’s been a rough few days:
(Newman) “The emotional part of it has been tough. In the end we’re in The Chase. And we have what I feel is a better than one-in-twelve shot at a championship.”
Kurt Busch and Furniture Row Racing’s one car team are in The Chase too, and he says they may be small but:
(Busch) “We are a bonafide Chase team, that’s competing with the big dogs and we are gonna give it our best effort over these next ten weeks.”
And more trouble for Michael Waltrip Racing. Two of their primary sponsors: Napa Auto Parts and Five Hour Energy, upset over the team’s actions at Richmond, are said to be reviewing their sponsorship deals with the organization.
