Housecall for Health: Yelling As Harmful As Hitting?
Is yelling as harmful as hitting? According to some new research, the answer could be yes.
FOX’s Colleen Cappon reports in this edition of “Housecall for Health”:
Yelling at adolescent children for misbehaving may cause the same psychological problems as hitting.
A study from the University of Pittsburgh finds when parents raise their voice or insult kids, it increases the risk of depression and aggressive behavior, similar to the effects of spanking.
Researchers say shouting can’t reduce problem behavior, it only makes it worse, and parents should use other forms of discipline.
