The Feds take Texas to court, to challenge the state’s voter ID law.
FOX News Radio’s Jared Halpern reports from Washington DC:
It’s the latest action to protect voting rights, but Attorney General Eric Holder promises it won’t be the last. The Department of Justice suing Texas over the state’s voter ID law and looking to intervene in a separate lawsuit aimed at overturning the state’s redistricting law.
The U.S. Supreme Court tossed out a major enforcement provision of the 1965 Voting Rights Act earlier this year. The Justice Department is using another provision of the Voting Rights Act to challenge voter ID laws, state-by-state.

“The filing of endless litigation in an effort to obstruct the will of the people of Texas is what we have come to expect from Attorney General Eric Holder and President Obama. We will continue to defend the integrity of our elections against this administration’s blatant disregard for the 10th Amendment.”
