Gov. Christie Appoints NJ Attorney General To Senate
New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has appointed his state Attorney General to temporarily fill the Senate seat previously held by the late Frank Lautenberg.
FOX News Radio’s Steve Taylor reports from Washington:
New Jersey’s Republican Governor Chris Christie has appointed his own Attorney General to take the vacant Senate seat. Republican Jeffrey Chiesa says, about going to Washington…
(Chiesa) “It’s a wonderful opportunity for anybody.”
But Chiesa will not run for the Senate seat in the special election this coming October. Governor Christie says…
(Christie) “He will not be a candidate in the primary or general election. That’s his decision.”
And when his four-month term is over, Chiesa might go back to being Christie’s Attorney General.
