Boston Fire Chief Resigns
He was criticized over his handling of the Boston Marathon bombings, and now the Boston Fire Chief has resigned.
FOX News Radio’s Jeff Monosso reports:
He was Boston’s Fire Chief for two years, but Steve Abraira resigns just weeks after 13 Deputy Fire Chiefs signed a letter of no confidence accusing Abraira of not showing leadership during the Boston bombings and of acting as a spectator instead of a commander at major fire scenes.
Abraira was the first Boston Fire Chief in history hired from outside its own union. One of the reasons Abraira says he was targeted by what he calls a vocal and aggressive minority.
But in a letter sent to Mayor Tom Menino, Abraira says the actions of the Deputy Chiefs has made it impossible for him to do his job.
