Pat Summerall’s voice is one of the most recognizable in football. After his 10 season as an NFL player were over, Summerall began calling games – first, for CBS in the ’60’s, where he partnered with John Madden. The duo worked together for 21 years and ended up at FOX in the ’90’s.
(Summerall) “Pat Summerall here with John Madden, and all that build up…”
During his career, Summerall was part of network television broadcasts for 16 Super Bowls, with his coverage of the 1982 Super Bowl remaining the highest-rated sports program of all time with 49% of the country watching. He broadcast his last championship game in 2002.
