Louisville Slugger Redesigns Logo, Bats
America’s pastime is back. The smell of fresh-cut grass, the roar of the crowd and shouting of vendors selling peanuts & Cracker Jacks. Major League Baseball is getting underway, but the cracks of the bats will be a little different this year.
FOX News Radio’s Chris Hoenig explains why:
The Louisville Slugger is a historic part of baseball.
(Louisville Slugger – “What Will Be Your Mark” Commerical) “We equipped Babe Ruth and he redefined greatness.”
But the times, they are ‘achangin’. An increase in broken bats leading to new, much harder maple and ash bats debuting this season, rated as the hardest possible by the American Society for Testing & Materials. And that iconic Louisville Slugger logo is getting a makeover, as well – its first since 1980.
(Louisville Slugger – “What Will Be Your Mark” Commerical) “You can let them leave their mark on you, or you can leave your mark on everyone.”
The new logo remains inside the classic oval on the bat barrel, but company executives call it a more modern look.
