Obama Gas Plan Could Cause Price Hike
The Obama administration wants oil companies to pump cleaner gas, but it could cost consumers.
FOX News Radio’s Jared Halpern reports from Washington:
By 2017, the Obama administration wants less sulfer in gasoline and better emissions standards for cars, but it could come at a cost.
An oil industry study says the proposed rules will increase the price at the pump by as much as nine cents a gallon.
The Environmental Protection Agency estimates less than a penny a gallon increase, and the EPA says the cleaning up gas and auto emissions will yield billions of dollars in health benefits by slashing smog and soot pollution.
