Nine-Yr-Old Survives Deadly Car Crash
A nine year-old child survived a deadly car crash in California, and hiked about a mile through the dark to try and get help.
FOX News Radio’s Jessica Rosenthal reports:
A man driving on a California highway northeast of Los Angeles around two Sunday morning crashed and rolled down an embankment. His nine-year-old daughter freed herself and CHP officer Gil Hernandez says she ran off to get help. She went northbound.
(Hernandez) “In this case, had she walked southbound on Sierra Highway, there’s a fire station there about half a mile from where the traffic collision occurred. Instead, she walked the opposite direction, where it was more isolated, where the residents are. Either direction, I think it was very courageous on her part.”
She eventually did get help from someone driving by, but the girl’s father had died. Authorities suspect alcohol may have played a role in the crash.
