Mississippi’s Anti-Bloomberg Law

    Michael Bloomberg

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s controversial proposal to ban large sodas has prompted one state to create a new law that takes the side of the big gulp, and personal responsibility.

FOX News Radio’s Jeff Monosso reports:

    Sugary Drinks

Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s bill to ban sugary drinks over 16-ounces was described by many New Yorkers as:

(New Yorker) “The dumbest thing ever!”

…Even shot down by a judge.  But now Mississippi, the most obese state in the nation, has signed into law a bill that restricts any government officials from banning food portions.

The so-called ‘anti-Bloomberg’ law also says government officials can’t require restaurants to list calorie counts or ban plastic toys in kids’ meals.

Governor Phil Bryant saying it’s up to individuals, not the government, to make responsible choices.

Bloomberg has called the Mississippi law ridiculous.
