FL Lt. Gov. Resigns Amid Investigation
There’s been a stunning resignation near the top of the state government in Florida.
FOX News Radio’s Eben Brown has details from Miami:
Florida’s Lieutenant Governor, Jennifer Carroll, is resigning after being questioned about her involvement in a non-profit internet cafe chain that is now accused of running online gambling rings. Carroll once consulted for the group, and while in the state legislature, championed a bill aimed at relaxing laws governing internet cafes.
Her resignation letter made no mention of the case, but the investigation is a joint effort between Florida, the state of Oklahoma, as well as the Department of Justice and the IRS.
