At Least 6 Shot, 4 Dead in NY

At least six people have been shot, 4 of them killed, in a series of shootings in New York’s Mohawk Valley. �According to the Herkimer Fire Department, the first shooting happened at a house in the Village of Mohawk, which was set on fire. �The gunman then drove off, later opening fire in a barber shop and at a car wash/oil lube business, both in Herkimer. �Two people were reportedly killed at each of the businesses.

Police are looking for 64-year-old�Kurt Meyers, identified as the suspect and still believed to be on the loose. �Authorities say guns and ammunition were found in Meyers’ apartment, which is the location that was set on fire.

Herkimer is a small town of about 7,700 people, located 13 miles southeast of Ithaca and 65 miles east of Syracuse.
