Critical Afghanistan Report Released

    Afghanistan

Where is all the money we’re sending to Afghanistan actually going?  A discouraging new report on that is released on a deadly day for U.S. forces in the country.

FOX News Radio’s Emily Wither reports from our Middle East bureau:

    Afghanistan Chopper Crash

First, two U.S. special forces were gunned down in an insider attack by an Afghan in police uniform in the east of the country.  Then, a helicopter crashed in the south, killing five U.S. troops.  The cause is still unknown.

Meanwhile, experts in Afghanistan are reporting that most aid to the country has not been used effectively.  But Najib Manalai, an adviser to the Afghan Ministry of Finance, says it’s not the government’s fault.

(Manalai) “Eighty percent of the international aid was spend out of government control.”

He says much of the aid isn’t being spent on Afghans, but on the security and living expenses for foreign organizations working there.
