No Charges For No CPR Nurse

    No CPR Woman Dies

A nurse who refused to do CPR to try to save an elderly woman’s life has been cleared of criminal wrongdoing, and the woman’s family says they won’t be suing.

FOX News Radio’s Steve Rappoport reports:

    Despite the deadly consequences…

(911 Call) “Is there anybody there that’s willing to help this lady and not let her die?” // “Not at this time.”

Police in Bakersfield, California won’t press charges against the nurse who refused to perform CPR on a dying woman at a retirement home.  The unidentified nurse called 911 after 87-year-old Lorraine Bayless collapsed.

(911 Call) “This woman’s not breathing enough.  She’s gonna die if we don’t get this started.”

The dispatcher repeatedly pleading with her to take action.

(911 Call) “Are we just gonna wait?  We’re gonna let this lady die?” // “Well, that’s why we’re calling 911.”

The facility’s owner initially defended the employee, but changed course in the face of public outrage, saying she misinterpreted company policy.
