Obama Takes Gun Control On the Road
President Obama has hit the road, seeking law enforcement back-up for his push for gun control measures, but not all law enforcement is ready to give a “10-4” to his proposals.
FOX News Radio White House Correspondent Mike Majchrowitz reports from the West Wing:
After a roundtable discussion with Minnesota law enforcement and city leaders, President Obama said there is a consensus.
(President Obama) “From big cities to small towns, they all believe it’s time to take some basic, common sense steps to reduce gun violence.”
But in nearby Pine County, Minnesota, Sheriff Robin Cole is not part of that consensus.
(Cole) “I am a firm believer in the Second Amendment of the Constitution, as I am in all of the Amendments to the Constitution. Those are our rights.”
Sheriff Cole says he doubts what the President is proposing would help his county prevent violence, but he does feel it would infringe on Constitutional rights and that he won’t agree to.
