Times Square to Honor Dick Clark on New Year’s Eve
New Year’s Eve celebrations in Times Square are a time of excitement, energy and a feeling of rebirth. But for some, the party just won’t be the same this year.
FOX News Radio’s Chris Hoenig explains from New York City:
Monday night marks 40 years of New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, but the first since host Dick Clark died. He’ll be honored on the 12-foot ball that drops to ring in the New Year, with one of the Waterford Crystal panels etched with his name. His widow, Kari Clark, tells FOX News Radio she will be in Times Square.
(Clark) “People said, ‘What are you gonna do on New Year’s Eve?’ And I thought, I don’t know what else to do except to come to Times Square. I mean, that’s all I’ve ever been doing.”
Clark says she’s tried to keep her life the same, living in the couple’s house and carrying on their routines. She’ll be a guest of Mayor Michael Bloomberg for the New Year.
