Housecall for Health: Childhood Obesity Rates

Constant recommendations from doctors about making sure kids eat a healthy diet and get a good amount of exercise appear to be working.

FOX News Radio’s Chris Hoenig reports in today’s “Housecall for Health”:

A new report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows obesity rates are decreasing in low-income preschoolers over the past 10 years.  Researchers said although the decline is “modest,” this is encouraging news.

Experts theorize more women are breastfeeding and the message of the importance of physical fitness is finally being heard.  Obesity is measured by the body mass index, a measure of weight in relation to height.
