Housecall for Health: More Morning After Pills
A group representing U.S. pediatricians has issued a new – and controversial – policy statement regarding teens and contraception use.
FOX’s Colleen Cappon reports in today’s “Housecall for Health”:
The American Academy of Pediatrics is encouraging doctors to counsel adolescent patients about emergency contraception and make advance prescriptions for girls under 17. Underage use of the morning after pill has been one of the most controversial topics in healthcare for over a decade, and while AAP leaders are optimistic, they expect many doctors will refuse the recommendation because of their own values about teenage sex.
