The monster storm’s march from the eastern seaboard to the Midwest, leaving a trail of what may be unprecedented destruction, spawning blizzards, fires and floods, laying waste to an undetermined number of homes and businesses.
(Fugate) “I got the resources that FEMA needs to respond.”
FEMA administrator Craig Fugate. The agency coordinating the federal effort to make sure disaster assistance gets where it’s needed ranging from relief supplies to help with search and rescue and communication equipment.
(Fugate) “Universally though, the thing that all the governors have expressed concern on the heaviest hit areas is power restoration.”
Working with utilities, under pressure. More than eight-million people without power in more than twenty states.
