Meningitis Cases Continue To Rise

An outbreak of meningitis linked to a steroid produced by a specialty pharmacy in Massachusetts has spread. There are 105 confirmed cases and at least 8 people have been killed.

FOX News Radio’s Courtney Kealy reports:

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention saying the cases are in nine states.

(CDC) “The symptoms that they’re experiencing are those that we sometimes see in cases of meningitis such as fever, new or worsening headache, sometimes neck stiffness.”

The outbreak has been traced to the New England Compounding Center which has announced a voluntary recall of all of its products , including the steroid blamed for the outbreak. It has been traced to more than 17,000 contaminated vials that have been distributed to facilities in 23 states.
