AEHQ: Politicizing the Jobs Report
For months, Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney has been campaigning an unemployment rate above 8%. But now, that rate has fallen.
FOX News Radio’s Steve Taylor reports from Washington in this Election Update:
From America’s Election Headquarters…
Does the nation’s lower unemployment rate – now 7.8% – take away one of Mitt Romney’s talking points? Obama campaign strategist David Axelrod says yes.
(Axelrod) “For months, he was running around the country, saying well, the President, this President’s lost jobs. Well, no, now we’ve net gained jobs.”
Axelrod on CBS’ “Face the Nation.” But Republican National Chairman Reince Priebus says President Obama is still getting clobbered by the economy.
(Priebus) “They promised we’d be a heck of a lot better off than we are today. We’re nowhere close.”
Priebus on CNN’s “State of the Union.”
