Amanda Clayton won $1 million in the Michigan lottery – cleared about $500,000 after taxes – and got into trouble with the state when she kept collecting welfare checks. She pleaded no contest to fraud in June and was sentenced to nine months probation.
Over the weekend, Amanda Clayton was found dead, a possible drug overdose, her young daughter found next to her. Josh Ormanian is the father of the 1-year-old.
(Ormanian) “The Amanda that I knew, she was a caring person. She really did care, but it just went down the wrong path when she got the money, got the freedom…felt like she could just do whatever she wanted.”
Amanda Clayton also made headlines in August after a fight with neighbors over yard waste.
