Housecall for Health: Flu Season Has Arrived

October has arrived, and with it comes flu season.

FOX’s Colleen Cappon has an important tip for protecting yourself in today’s “Housecall for Health”:

Flu shot season is here, and the CDC is urging everyone over six months of age – especially seniors and pregnant women – to get vaccinated.

Besides the traditional shot, a new option this year for those scared of needles is the intradermal shot, which uses a thinner, shorter needle that only penetrates the skin, not the muscle.  The nasal spray version is also available, but because it’s higher potency, you should talk to your doctor first.
