GA Woman Dies From Dog Saliva Infection
A Georgia woman who had contracted a rare bacteria from a family pet has lost her battle with the infection.
FOX News Radio’s Chris Hoenig reports:
(Kathryn Johnson) “Oh Lord, I plead to you…”
Kathryn Johnson sings a song written for her aunt, 32-year-old Hannah Rinehart, who died early Wednesday after an eight-week battle with a rare bacteria found in dog saliva.
Rinehart survived cancer three separate times, but that weakened her immune system. The bacteria then caused circulation problems that cost her her hands and feet, and eventually her life. Rinehart’s brother, David Johnson, was by her side when she died.
(David Johnson) “There’s a hole that was created last night, and it’s not…it’s not gonna be filled again.”
(Kathryn Johnson) “I ask to bring healing to Hannah…”
