Securing America: Securing the DNC
They’ve handled events with far more people attending in Charlotte, North Carolina, than the Democratic National Convention. They’ve just never done it with this much security.
FOX News Radio’s Jeff Monosso reports from the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte:
Securing America.
Delegates and party faithful have invaded Charlotte, and so have protesters.
(Protesters) “We want to stop the wars.”//”The protests are an important message, to tell the party what the people really think.”
And Charlotte is spending some $50 million in Federal money on increased security measures, hiring an additional 3,400 law enforcement officers and putting up five miles of security fencing and steel barriers.
About 60% of downtown Charlotte now falls under a security zone, and there’s a list of things not allowed inside, including backpacks, umbrellas or even face-concealing scarves, though the city still promises to treat everyone here with a little Southern hospitality.
